8 Best Instantly Alternatives in 2026 (Real Prices)
Instantly's $37/mo headline becomes ~$550 once you stack the modules. We priced 8 Instantly alternatives against vendor pages on 5 Aug 2026.
Par Meetbound Team · · 34 min de lecture

Instantly is not one subscription. It is five: Email Outreach, Instantly Credits, CRM, Inbox Placement, and per-unit charges for domains and done-for-you mailboxes. The $37.60 a month on the pricing page is the first of those, on annual billing, and it buys sending only — 5,000 emails a month, a 1,000-contact lifetime ceiling, and a Unibox you can read but cannot reply from. Stack what a working team actually uses and the number lands near $550. That gap is why most people start looking for Instantly alternatives.
So this guide is organized around the billing unit rather than the sticker price. For each of the eight alternatives below you get the entry price, the thing the meter actually counts — mailboxes, seats, uploaded contacts, contacted prospects or credits — and the tier where the price cliff sits. Prices last verified: 5 August 2026. Every figure comes from a vendor's own pricing page or help center, never from another comparison article. Two figures we could not read first-hand, Apollo's JavaScript-rendered table and Woodpecker's annual slider, are labeled third-party where they appear. Where a vendor's own pages disagree — Instantly's do, in at least four places — both numbers are printed and the conflict named.
One scoping note: this article is about sending platforms, the tool that holds your sequences, rotates your mailboxes and shows you replies. Standalone warmup and deliverability tooling is a separate purchase with its own price structure, and it gets its own comparison. Short answer first, then what Instantly really costs, then the eight alternatives.
The short answer: best Instantly alternatives by use case
- Best overall on all-in cost — Meetbound. One flat subscription covering sending, in-house warmup and AI reply triage. $19.99, $49.99 or $119.99 a month. No per-mailbox warmup fee. Not for you if you need LinkedIn sequencing, a dialer, or a pre-built contact database in the same product.
- Best for agencies — Smartlead. $39/mo entry, unlimited mailboxes at every tier, and the most mature white-label client-workspace layer in the category. Unlimited Prime at $379/mo adds dedicated SmartServers. Read the warmup line before you buy the entry tier: the pool costs $59/mo extra until you reach $174.
- Cheapest credible entry — Saleshandy. $25/mo billed annually ($36 monthly), unlimited email accounts, and warmup bundled at no per-inbox charge.
- Best for deliverability-obsessed operators — QuickMail. $49/mo flat, unlimited email senders, unlimited LinkedIn accounts and unlimited users, with Deliverability AI on top. It carries the highest G2 score on this page at 4.7/5 — across 116 reviews, so not a like-for-like comparison with Instantly's 4,000.
- Best if you need LinkedIn in the same sequence — lemlist. Multichannel at $109/user/mo ($87 annual), plus the strongest personalization engine in the category. Its Email plan is flat, not per seat, at $69/mo ($55 annual).
What Instantly really costs in 2026
The advertised price buys sending only
Instantly Growth is $47/mo monthly, $37.60 billed annually — a genuine 20% annual discount. At that price you get 5,000 emails a month, 1,000 uploaded contacts, and a per-account SMTP cap of 100 sends per day. Unlimited email accounts and unlimited warmup are included, and unlike most of this category Instantly does not charge per seat. Those are real advantages and we come back to them.
What Growth does not include is the part most buyers assume. Per Instantly's own plan-comparison documentation, you cannot reply from the Unibox on Growth — you can preview replies only. Webhooks are Hypergrowth and above. API access is documented as available on Growth in the help center but rendered as Hypergrowth-only in the pricing page's comparison table; the vendor's two pages disagree, and we could not resolve it from published sources.
Five subscriptions, not one
This is the structural fact that drives every complaint about Instantly's pricing. Instantly is not one subscription. Its billing page carries separate tabs, each its own recurring charge: Email Outreach, Instantly Credits, CRM, Inbox Placement, and per-unit charges for domains and done-for-you mailboxes. Almost every "Instantly costs $37/mo" claim is quoting the first tab only, on annual billing.
| Product | Entry price | What it unlocks | Can you skip it? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Email Outreach | $47/mo ($37.60 annual) | Sending, unlimited mailboxes, unlimited warmup, campaigns, Unibox (reply requires Hypergrowth) | No — this is the product |
| Instantly Credits | $9/mo (150 credits) to $1,700/mo (200,000); Growth tier $47/mo = 1,500 credits | Lead database, enrichment, verification, AI Reply Agent, AI Sales Agent, Website Visitors | Yes, if you bring your own data. But a credits-only account is capped at uploading 250 leads to campaigns |
| CRM | $47/mo (Growth CRM), $97/mo (Hyper CRM) | Pipeline across email, calls, SMS and tasks. Unlimited seats, flat rate | Yes, if you already run a CRM |
| Inbox Placement | $47/mo (unlimited one-time tests), $97/mo (adds automated tests) | Spam and placement testing, blacklist monitoring | Yes, but you lose your only in-product placement check |
| Domains and DFY mailboxes | $15 per domain per year; AirMail $4/mailbox/mo; DFY Google $5/mailbox/mo; pre-warmed Google $10/mailbox/mo | The actual sending infrastructure | Only by buying it elsewhere — you pay this line item with every vendor on this page |
Note the credit rates, because they change the arithmetic on the AI features. A verified work email found by Instantly costs 1 credit; one sourced from a data partner costs 2. Lead verification is 0.25 credits. The AI Reply Agent charges 5 credits per generated reply "regardless of whether the reply is sent or edited", and the AI Sales Agent charges 5 credits per generated lead whether or not you approve it. On the $47 credit tier that is roughly $0.16 for every AI reply you generate, including the ones you throw away.
The 2026 bundles carry no discount
Instantly introduced bundles in 2026: Starter $94/mo, Scale $194/mo, Agency $555/mo. Run the arithmetic over Instantly's own published figures and the bundles turn out to be the exact sum of their parts. Starter $94 = Outreach Growth $47 + Growth Credits $47. Scale $194 = Hypergrowth $97 + Supersonic Credits $97. Agency $555 = Light Speed $358 + Hyper Credits $197. There is no bundle discount at all.
It gets worse on annual billing. Bundles are labeled "Save 10%", while standalone Outreach carries a 20% annual discount. So buying the two products separately on annual billing is cheaper than the equivalent bundle. Scale annual is $175/mo, versus $164.90/mo for Hypergrowth annual ($77.60) plus Supersonic Credits annual ($87.30) — a saving of $121 a year. Agency annual is $500/mo, versus $463.60/mo for Light Speed annual ($286.30) plus Hyper Credits annual ($177.30) — a saving of $437 a year. That is our arithmetic over Instantly's published figures, and it is worth re-checking against the live page before you renew.
Three limits that catch people out
- "Uploaded contacts" is a lifetime cap, not a monthly allowance. Instantly's help center is explicit: "The uploaded contact limit is a fixed limit across all campaigns, not per month." On Growth you can hold 1,000 contacts total, ever, until you delete some. Nearly every competing comparison article treats 1,000 / 25,000 / 100,000 as a monthly quota. It is not.
- The Unibox is read-only on the entry plan. Growth previews replies. Replying from the unified inbox requires Hypergrowth at $97/mo. The feature most people buy a sending platform for is gated one tier above the advertised price.
- Credits expire and never roll over. Two months after purchase on monthly plans, one year on annual plans. Combined with AI agents that bill on generation rather than acceptance, this is the mechanism behind most of the billing complaints on Trustpilot.
What a real team pays
Stack what a small agency or SDR team actually needs and the number moves a long way from the headline: Outreach Hypergrowth $97 + Supersonic Credits $97 + Hyper CRM $97 + Inbox Placement Hypergrowth $97 + 10 domains (about $12.50/mo amortized) + 30 done-for-you Google mailboxes at $5 each ($150/mo) = roughly $550 a month. That is about 14.6× the advertised $37.60. The stacking is our arithmetic, not a vendor bundle — but every line in it is a price Instantly publishes.
One more figure worth knowing before you compare volumes: Instantly's pricing page shows Hypergrowth at 125,000 emails a month under the Monthly toggle and 100,000 under the Yearly toggle, while the help center says 125,000 twice. We treat 125,000 as the better-supported number and flag the rest as a live vendor self-contradiction.
It is not the only one. Instantly's pricing page advertises a 450M+ contact database while its CRM page says 185M. Its help center says Inbox Placement monitors 94 blacklists; the marketing page says 400+. The help center documents API access on Growth; the pricing page's comparison table renders it as Hypergrowth-only. None of these are pricing errors on their own, but four unresolved contradictions on one vendor's own site is a reason to confirm every material number in writing before you commit to an annual term.
How we ranked these, and where we are biased
Disclosure. This blog belongs to Meetbound, which sells a cold email platform competing with all eight tools below, and we put ourselves at number one. Discount that accordingly. The ranking axis is all-in monthly cost with warmup included — not feature breadth, not database size, not multichannel coverage — and every entry says where a different axis produces a different winner. If what you need is LinkedIn sequencing, a built-in dialer, or a 450M-record contact database in the same product, Meetbound is the wrong purchase and the entries below name the right one.
- Vendor pricing pages first, vendor help centers second, review platforms third. Where a help center is more granular than the marketing page — as it usually is — we follow the help center and say so.
- G2 and Trustpilot are always quoted together. Instantly sits at 4.8/5 on G2 across roughly 4,000 reviews with literally 0% one-star, and at about 3.8–4.0 on Trustpilot across roughly 1,000. A one-point gap on the same product is itself information. Neither figure is the whole picture by itself.
- What we refused to publish. A widely-circulated Reddit thread alleging that Instantly's warmup network blocked a customer's domain reputation, and the "90+ heat score, 30–40% spam placement" statistic attached to it. Every source repeating it sells a competing product, and we could not open the thread. The Trustpilot-sourced complaints below cover the same ground and are traceable.
- Re-verification cadence. We re-check every price on this page monthly and bump the updated date. If the date at the top is more than a month old, treat the numbers as indicative.
Instantly alternatives compared (August 2026 prices)
| Tool | Best for | Entry price /mo | Billing unit | Mailboxes at that price | Warmup included | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Instantly (baseline) | Unlimited mailboxes and a lead database on one invoice | $47 ($37.60 annual) | Flat per workspace; metered on emails/mo + uploaded contacts (lifetime) | Unlimited | Yes — unlimited, free, every tier | No sequencing (CRM tracks it only) |
| Meetbound | Sending, warmup and AI reply triage on one flat bill | $19.99 | Flat monthly price by plan; metered on mailboxes | 3 on Starter; 50 on Pro ($49.99); unlimited on Agency ($119.99) | Yes — by tier, no per-mailbox fee | No — email-first |
| Smartlead | Agencies running 50+ mailboxes | $39 (~$32.50 annual) | Flat per workspace; metered on sends + stored contacts | Unlimited | $59/mo add-on below the $174 tier; free above it | No |
| Saleshandy | Cheapest credible unlimited-mailbox entry | $36 ($25 annual) | Flat per workspace; metered on active prospects | Unlimited | Yes — via TrulyInbox, separate login | No |
| QuickMail | Deliverability-first operators | $49 | Flat per workspace; metered on uploaded contacts | Unlimited senders and users | Yes — free AutoWarmer, on a partner engine | Yes — unlimited LinkedIn accounts |
| lemlist | Personalization and true multichannel | $69 ($55 annual) Email plan | Flat per workspace on Email (metered on emails/mo); per seat on Multichannel | Unlimited senders on Email; 5 per seat on Multichannel | Yes — lemwarm bundled on all plans | Yes — Multichannel, $109/user ($87 annual) |
| Woodpecker | Predictable monthly prospect volume | ~$35 monthly (~$24–$28 annual) at 500 contacted prospects | Per contacted prospect per month | Unlimited, free | Yes; extra warmups $5/mailbox/mo | Add-on — $29/mo per LinkedIn account |
| Emelia | Flat-priced EU email + LinkedIn | €37 (euros, not dollars) | Flat per workspace; metered on mailboxes + LinkedIn accounts | 3 on Start; up to 50 on Grow; unlimited on Scale | Yes | Yes — 1 account on Start, up to 20 on Scale |
| Apollo.io | Database and sequencer in the same seat | $59 ($49 annual) | Per user per month | Bring your own; no mailbox infrastructure | No — warmup discontinued in 2024 | Not confirmed in any vendor source |
Two errors circulate widely in other guides and are worth correcting here. Woodpecker does not price in flat named tiers — its pricing page is a slider metered at $7 per 100 contacted prospects per month, so any fixed monthly figure quoted for Woodpecker is really a point on that slider and is meaningless without the prospect volume attached. And lemlist's Email plan is flat, not per seat — it includes unlimited users and unlimited email senders, metered on monthly email volume, which makes it far cheaper for a multi-person email-only team than every listicle that renders it as "$55/user/mo". Warmup is a Yes/No column here on purpose; the tiers, per-inbox fees and unlimited-inbox models behind that column are a separate purchase, and we break down how warmup pricing actually works elsewhere. Everything in the table above came from a vendor pricing page on 5 August 2026.
Why teams leave Instantly, and which alternative actually fixes it
Not every reason for leaving has a fix. Two of the rows below are honest dead ends — the alternative has the same problem, and switching will not solve it. Knowing which is which saves you a migration.
| Reason you are leaving | Tools that genuinely fix it | Tools with the same problem |
|---|---|---|
| Bill grew 4–15× the headline | Meetbound ($19.99–$119.99 flat), Saleshandy ($25 annual), Smartlead ($39) — one subscription, not five | Any vendor selling infrastructure, data and sending as separate products |
| Credits expired unused | Meetbound (email-finder packs are one-time purchases, not an expiring monthly allowance), Woodpecker (free unlimited catch-all verification) | Hunter, Snov.io and Apollo all meter on credits with their own reset rules |
| Hit the lifetime uploaded-contact cap | Smartlead (stored contacts by tier), Saleshandy (active prospects, resets), lemlist (unlimited contacts on the Email plan) | QuickMail meters uploaded contacts too — same trap, different brand |
| Cannot reply from the Unibox on the entry plan | Meetbound's Smart Inbox is on every tier including Starter, with AI reply classification free at all levels | Saleshandy lists the unified inbox against Pro, not the $25 Starter tier; lemlist's own pricing card and comparison table disagree over whether the Email plan has one. Check the tier, not the feature list |
| Shared warmup pool quality | Honestly, nobody. Meetbound, Smartlead, Saleshandy and lemlist all run peer-exchange networks with the same structural exposure | Every peer network on this page. Only seed-list tools and Instantly Enterprise's Private Deliverability Network work differently |
| Deliverability score says green, campaigns land in spam | No sending platform fixes this. QuickMail and Instantly at least sell placement testing as a check | Every tool here grades its own homework. The only honest check is what the receiving providers report back to you, and no sequencer on this page can give you that |
| No LinkedIn at any tier | lemlist Multichannel, QuickMail, Emelia — see tools that run LinkedIn and email in one sequence | Meetbound, Smartlead and Saleshandy are email-first, exactly like Instantly |
| DFY domains suspended or not transferable | Buying domains at your own registrar and mailboxes in your own Workspace tenant, then connecting them to whichever sequencer you like | Any managed-infrastructure package from any vendor raises the same ownership question. Ask first |
| Support is bot-first | Nobody, cleanly. QuickMail holds the highest G2 score here at 4.7/5, but on only 116 reviews, and it publishes no real-time support during US business hours — treat this as a reason to trial, not to switch | Smartlead sits at 3.4 on Trustpilot with slow support as a recurring G2 theme (~13 mentions); Saleshandy and Woodpecker draw support-delay complaints too |
| Webhooks gated behind the mid tier | Meetbound (HMAC-signed webhooks plus a documented REST API), Smartlead (deep API) | QuickMail puts webhooks on the $299 Agency tier; Woodpecker charges $20/mo for integrations, API and webhooks |
The 8 best Instantly alternatives
1. Meetbound
- Best for: Teams who want sending, warmup and AI reply triage on one flat bill instead of four subscriptions.
- Key features: Multi-step sequences with per-step delays, send windows, time zones and daily caps; automatic mailbox rotation; A/B variants; auto-stop on reply; in-house peer-to-peer warmup with automatic ramp-up, configurable reply-rate targets and auto-quarantine when spam rates spike; Smart Inbox AI reply classification across 8 intents with sentiment scoring and one-click suggested responses; Lead Discovery and Email Finder with built-in verification; DNS health monitoring for SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX; HMAC-signed webhooks and a documented REST API.
- Strengths: One subscription covers the sequencer, the warmup network and the reply triage that Instantly bills across three separate tabs. Warmup is included by tier and carries no per-mailbox fee. The plan price is the same figure in USD, EUR and GBP, so a European buyer is not quoted a conversion. Reply classification costs nothing at any tier and runs on Claude Haiku through AWS Bedrock inside the EU, so reply content stays in-region. The free trial is the Starter plan with 25 email-finder credits attached, and it never asks for a card.
- Limitations: Email-first. It does not sequence LinkedIn, it is not multichannel, and there is no dialer. The integration directory is small — HMAC-signed webhooks and a documented REST API stand in for a 50-app marketplace. It is a younger product than lemlist or Instantly, and the template community is correspondingly smaller. Lead Discovery scrapes and verifies rather than querying a pre-built 450M-record database. And it is not a CRM: replies exit through webhooks and the API.
- Pricing: Three plans, metered on sending mailboxes. Starter $19.99/mo for 3, Pro $49.99/mo for 50, Agency $119.99/mo uncapped. Month-to-month, no setup fee. Email Finder credits are one-time packs — 500 for $19, 2,000 for $59, 5,000 for $119, 10,000 for $199 — and Lead Enrichment is $250 per 1,000 credits, billed only on successful results.
- Why it is a strong alternative: It removes most of the module stack. Sending, in-house warmup, verification and AI reply triage are all inside the subscription, and that subscription price does not move as you add mailboxes inside your tier. Be clear about what is still metered: email-finder credits and lead-enrichment credits are separate purchases, so this is one subscription plus pay-as-you-go data, not literally one line item. Ranked first on one axis only — all-in monthly cost with warmup included. Do not pick Meetbound if you need LinkedIn or calls in the same sequence, a built-in dialer, or a large pre-built contact database in the same product. In those cases go to lemlist, QuickMail or Apollo below.
2. Smartlead
- Best for: Agencies running 50 or more mailboxes who need white-label client workspaces and their own sending servers.
- Key features: Unlimited email accounts at every tier; sub-sequences; master inbox; a deep and well-documented API; client workspaces with white-labeling; SmartServers for dedicated sending infrastructure; verified prospect-email credits bundled per tier.
- Strengths: The agency layer is the most mature in this category, and the flat per-workspace price means mailbox count never changes the invoice. Unlimited Prime at $379/mo ships three SmartServers, OAuth, three or more client workspaces and a dedicated account manager — a package nobody else on this page assembles at that price.
- Limitations: 4.6/5 on G2 but 3.4 on Trustpilot — a 1.2-point split, the widest on this page, wider even than Instantly's. G2 con themes cluster around email-connectivity bugs and UX complexity (~19 mentions), slow support (~13) and expensive client-access charges (~9). Add-ons stack: CRM $39/mo, white-label client workspaces $29/mo, SmartServers $39 per server per month. And warmup is not free on the two cheapest tiers — the pricing page listed the Warmup Pool as a $59/mo add-on on Base and Pro on 5 August 2026, with the free premium pool starting at Unlimited Smart. Older guides and Smartlead's own FAQ copy say all tiers get it, so confirm in writing if warmup is why you are buying.
- Pricing: Base $39/mo ($32.50 annual, 17% off) — 2,000 stored contacts, 6,000 sends/mo. Pro $94/mo ($78.30 annual) — 30,000 contacts, 90,000 sends/mo. Unlimited Smart $174/mo ($144.50 annual) — unlimited contacts, 150,000 sends/mo. Unlimited Prime $379/mo ($314.60 annual) — 500,000 sends/mo. Flat per workspace at every tier, plus $59/mo for the warmup pool below $174.
- Why it is a strong alternative: It matches Instantly's best structural feature — unlimited mailboxes with no per-inbox tax — without requiring a second subscription to make the first one usable. If you are leaving because the modules stacked, Smartlead is the closest like-for-like swap.
3. Saleshandy
- Best for: The cheapest credible entry into unlimited-mailbox sending.
- Key features: Unlimited email accounts on every plan; built-in Lead Finder; unified inbox and A-Z variant testing from Pro; white-label and SSO at Scale; bundled warmup; a separate inbox-placement testing product.
- Strengths: $25/mo billed annually is the lowest real entry price for unlimited mailboxes anywhere in this comparison, and the meter is active prospects, which resets — not a lifetime ceiling like Instantly's uploaded contacts. For a solo founder or a two-person team sending under 6,000 emails a month, nothing else here is cheaper per mailbox.
- Limitations: Warmup is not native. It runs through TrulyInbox, a separate platform with a separate login, which Saleshandy owns — so it is the same engine, but it is not one product. G2 shows roughly 54 warmup-related complaints, alongside UI and UX (115 mentions) and missing features (88). No dialer and no LinkedIn automation. And the add-ons are where the real price lives: email verification $19 per 5,000 recipients, AI credits $10 per 5,000, dialer credits $29 per 1,000, mailboxes $2.99–$3.99 per mailbox per month, and inbox-placement testing $34–$199/mo as a separate product.
- Pricing: Outreach Starter $25/mo annual ($300/yr) or $36/mo monthly — 2,000 active prospects, 6,000 emails/mo. Pro $69/mo annual ($99 monthly) — 30,000 active prospects, 150,000 emails/mo. Scale $139/mo annual ($199 monthly). Scale Plus $209/mo annual ($299 monthly). Flat per workspace.
- Why it is a strong alternative: It is the price floor. If your objection to Instantly is purely the bill and you send email only, Saleshandy gets you unlimited mailboxes and warmup for less than the Instantly Growth plan that cannot reply from its own inbox.
4. QuickMail
- Best for: Deliverability-obsessed operators who want unlimited senders, unlimited LinkedIn accounts and unlimited users at a genuinely flat price.
- Key features: Unlimited email senders, LinkedIn accounts and users on every tier; free AutoWarmer; Deliverability AI running daily analysis of account-health signals with per-inbox real-time scoring; Smart Sender Groups that automatically swap weaker sending accounts for stronger ones; inbox rotation; blacklist monitoring; 14-day free trial.
- Strengths: 4.7/5 on G2 — the highest score on this page, though across only 116 reviews against Instantly's ~4,000, and with no comparable Trustpilot page to set against it. No per-seat and no per-inbox charge at any tier, so a five-person team on 40 mailboxes pays the same as a solo operator on four. The deliverability tooling is deeper than anything else in this price band, and it is the only tool here that bundles unlimited LinkedIn accounts at the entry price.
- Limitations: The UI is dated. You cannot add prospects straight to a campaign — you add them to a "bucket", then attach a schedule that moves them in, and reviewers report that step glitching. There is no built-in email finder or list verification, so you need a separate data layer. The warmup is not QuickMail's own engine any more either — it was spun out to a separate free product after Google restricted third-party auto-warmup API access, so QuickMail does not control the network your inboxes warm on. No real-time support during US business hours. Webhooks are gated to the $299 Agency tier. Annual pricing is not published on the vendor page at all, so the only rates you can compare are monthly. And at $49 it is the priciest entry tier in the flat-price group — Smartlead is $39 and Instantly $47.
- Pricing: Starter $49/mo — 1,000 uploaded contacts, 5,000 emails/mo. Growth $99/mo — 25,000 uploaded contacts, 100,000 emails/mo, adds API. Agency $299/mo — 100,000 uploaded contacts, 500,000 emails/mo, 2 workspaces (extra workspaces $49 each), webhooks. Flat per workspace, metered on uploaded contacts.
- Why it is a strong alternative: If you left Instantly because the dashboard said green while campaigns landed in spam, QuickMail is the tool that puts the most diagnostic machinery between you and that outcome — and it does it without a per-seat or per-inbox meter.
5. lemlist
- Best for: Teams that need LinkedIn, calls and email inside one sequence, and the strongest personalization engine in the category.
- Key features: Liquid-syntax conditional personalization on every plan; dynamic images, videos and personalized landing pages; LinkedIn, SMS and WhatsApp automation plus a built-in dialer on Multichannel; a lead database lemlist advertises as 600M+ on one of its own pages and 650M+ on another; unified inbox; lemwarm and the Deliverability Hub bundled on all plans; API, CLI and MCP with no developer paywall; EN/FR/DE/ES interface with USD, EUR or GBP billing.
- Strengths: The personalization engine has no real equivalent elsewhere — conditional liquid logic and auto-generated dynamic images are available on every plan, including the cheapest. And the Email plan is flat, not per seat: $69/mo monthly, $55 annual, with unlimited users and unlimited email senders, metered at 50,000 emails a month. That is the most misreported price in this category, and it makes lemlist unexpectedly competitive for a multi-person email-only team. 4.6/5 on Capterra across 387 reviews.
- Limitations: Multichannel is genuinely per seat at $109/user/mo ($87 annual), with 5 senders per seat and $9 per extra mailbox per month above that, plus $20/user/mo for WhatsApp. The Email plan includes zero credits, so every enrichment is out of pocket at $0.01 per credit — a verified email costs 5 credits. Reviewers flag reporting accuracy and support depth as the two persistent weaknesses. And lemlist's own pricing page contradicts itself, showing "Unlimited users" on the Email card while the comparison table underneath reads "From $55 /user /mo".
- Pricing: Email $69/mo monthly, $55 annual, flat, 50,000 emails/mo (higher volume tiers run to 1,000,000 emails at $659 monthly / $527 annual). Multichannel $109/user/mo monthly, $99 quarterly, $87 annual. Enterprise custom. 14-day free trial with no credit card.
- Why it is a strong alternative: It answers both things Instantly has no answer for. QuickMail and Emelia also run LinkedIn in the same sequence, but neither matches lemlist on personalization beyond merge tags. If you are weighing it against the rest of the field, we cover it in depth in our guide to lemlist alternatives.
6. Woodpecker
- Best for: Teams whose monthly prospect volume is predictable, and who value free unlimited catch-all verification and unlimited team members.
- Key features: Unlimited email accounts, unlimited team members and unlimited catch-all verification free at every tier; deliverability-first sending with inbox rotation; an agency panel for client management; Lead Finder credits at higher tiers.
- Strengths: Free unlimited catch-all verification is genuinely rare — most tools charge per check, and catch-all domains are where the bounces hide. You never pay for seats, and you never pay for mailboxes. For a consultancy emailing a steady 2,000 new prospects a month, the meter is well-matched to the work.
- Limitations: The contacted-prospect meter resets monthly and counts every new person you email, so volatile volume stops campaigns mid-month until the next cycle or an upgrade. There is no built-in prospect database. Add-ons stack quickly: LinkedIn $29/mo per LinkedIn account, extra warmups $5/mo per email account, managed mailboxes $6/mo (Google or Microsoft) or $4/mo (third-party), dedicated server $59/mo, integrations, API and webhooks $20/mo, and the agency panel at $27/mo per active client plus $5 per client for white-labeling. Reviewers also flag sequence management without drag-and-drop, occasional bugs and slow performance.
- Pricing: $7.00 per 100 contacted prospects per month. 500 contacted prospects is about $35/mo monthly; the annual equivalent has rendered as both $24/mo and $28/mo on Woodpecker's own slider, so treat the annual figure as approximate. The rate is not linear at volume — third-party sources put 10,000 contacted prospects at roughly $126/mo billed annually. Slider tiers run from 500 up to 1,000,000.
- Why it is a strong alternative: It inverts Instantly's meter. Instantly charges you for contacts you store forever; Woodpecker charges you for people you actually email this month, and gives away the verification that would otherwise be a credit line item.
7. Emelia
- Best for: Teams that budget in euros and want the LinkedIn channel Instantly does not sell at any tier.
- Key features: Email plus LinkedIn in the same sequence from the entry plan, warmup included, mailbox and LinkedIn-account allowances that step up by tier, and a credit balance for finding, verification and AI actions that you are not obliged to spend to keep sending.
- Strengths: It is the lowest entry price in this comparison that buys both channels, and nothing about it is metered per user. Scale at €297/mo lifts the mailbox cap entirely and allows up to 20 LinkedIn accounts — agency capacity without agency per-seat math.
- Limitations: The prices are euros, and English-language listicles routinely reprint €37 with a dollar sign — at current rates that understates the bill. Unlike Instantly, mailboxes are capped by tier rather than unlimited: three on Start, fifty on Grow. Analytics stop at opens, clicks, replies and bounces, sequences run start-to-finish without branching, and anything beyond the native integrations needs Zapier or Make below Scale. The independent review corpus is thin compared with Instantly's ~4,000 G2 reviews, so there is less outside validation to lean on.
- Pricing: €37/mo on Start buys 3 mailboxes and one LinkedIn account with 500 credits. €97/mo on Grow raises that to 50 and five, with 1,000 credits. €297/mo on Scale removes the mailbox cap, allows twenty LinkedIn accounts and includes 5,000 credits. Annual billing gives two months free; top-up credits start at €19 per 1,000.
- Why it is a strong alternative: It is the cheapest way to add the one channel Instantly has never sold, and its price behaves the way Instantly's headline implies its own price behaves — one number, no second tab.
8. Apollo.io
- Best for: Teams who want the contact database and the sequencer in the same seat, sending moderate volume from a handful of mailboxes.
- Key features: A 275M+ contact database with intent signals; sequencing in the same seat as the data; email, mobile and export credits bundled per user per year; uncapped sending through SendGrid from the Professional tier; a free plan with 10,000 email credits a month.
- Strengths: You do not buy a separate data vendor. For a team whose bottleneck is finding contacts rather than sending volume, that consolidation is worth real money, and the free plan is the most generous entry point on this page by a wide margin.
- Limitations: It is per seat, and the Organization plan carries a 3-seat minimum, so the advertised $119/user/mo annual is really $357/mo. Apollo discontinued email warmup in 2024; the replacement, Inbox Ramp Up, only paces sending volume and does not build sender reputation, so you will need a separate warmup tool. Data accuracy is the number-one complaint — more than 500 of Apollo's 9,000+ G2 reviews mention inaccurate or outdated data, and while Apollo claims 91% email accuracy, independent testing puts it at 65–80%, and 60–73% outside North America. It is deliberately weak as a pure sending tool.
- Pricing: Free $0. Basic $49/user/mo billed annually ($59 monthly). Professional $79/user/mo annual ($99 monthly). Organization $119/user/mo annual ($149 monthly) with a 3-seat minimum. Per user per month. Source note: Apollo's pricing table is JavaScript-rendered and did not load for us, so these figures are corroborated third-party rather than read off the vendor page. Confirm in a browser before committing.
- Why it is a strong alternative: It answers the half of Instantly that most people actually use — the lead database — without asking you to buy an expiring credit subscription alongside a sending subscription. Just do not expect it to replace Instantly's deliverability layer, because it no longer has one.
Two tools frequently listed as Instantly alternatives that are not
- Expandi is LinkedIn-only. It supports email follow-up steps inside a LinkedIn sequence, but it has no mailbox infrastructure, no inbox rotation and no email warmup, and it is priced at $99/mo per LinkedIn account ($79 annual). It is a complement to a sending platform, not a replacement for one.
- Hunter Campaigns has no email warmup engine at all — you must bolt on a separate tool and run a warmup period before any real volume. It also caps you at 3 connected email accounts and 2,500 recipients per sequence on Starter (€49/mo, €34 billed yearly). It is a light bolt-on for a team already paying for Hunter's finder, not a cold email platform.
When you should just keep Instantly
An honest comparison has to include the case for staying, and Instantly's is stronger than most of this SERP admits. It genuinely gives you unlimited email accounts, unlimited warmup and unlimited seats on every plan including the $47 entry tier — three things that are add-ons, tier-gated or per-seat almost everywhere else.
- Unlimited really means unlimited on mailboxes, warmup and seats. No per-inbox warmup fee, no per-seat fee, at any tier — and unlike Smartlead, no separate charge for the warmup pool either. On warmup specifically, the $47 tier is the most generous offer in this comparison.
- The lead database is in the same product. A contact database Instantly advertises at 450M+ (185M on its own CRM page), SuperSearch filters and waterfall enrichment, billed through one credit currency. Even at the lower figure, no other tool here bundles data at that scale.
- AirMail at $4 per inbox is native sending infrastructure. Buying mailboxes from the same vendor that sequences them removes a whole procurement step, and $4 is at the cheap end of the market.
- SISR dedicated IP sharding at Light Speed. Dedicated IP pools with automatic swap-out of flagged IPs. Smartlead's SmartServers ($39 per server per month) and Woodpecker's dedicated server ($59/mo) are the nearest self-serve equivalents here, and neither advertises automatic swap-out of flagged IPs.
If you send 100,000+ emails a month from 100+ mailboxes and you want database, sending and infrastructure on one invoice, Instantly is still the strongest single product in the category. The case for leaving is about billing architecture, not capability.
The mailbox layer nobody prices
Every comparison article in this category prices the software and stops. But "unlimited mailboxes" in a sequencer never meant free mailboxes — it means the sequencer will not charge you extra for connecting them. Somebody still has to sell you the inbox and the domain. Here is the all-in monthly cost at three realistic team sizes.
- Assumptions: 30 sends per mailbox per day, so 10 mailboxes is about 9,000 emails a month, 25 is about 22,500 and 50 is about 45,000.
- 10,000 prospects in the system and 3 team members, held constant across every row.
- Both rates are shown where the vendor publishes an annual price; monthly only where it does not.
- Mailbox hosting and domains are priced separately and identically across every tool, because they are the same purchase whoever you sequence with.
- Verification is excluded from the table — budget for it separately, and verify every address before you send regardless of which platform you land on.
| Tool | 10 mailboxes (~9,000 emails/mo) | 25 mailboxes (~22,500) | 50 mailboxes (~45,000) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Instantly | $77.60 annual / $97 monthly — Hypergrowth. Growth cannot do it: 5,000 emails/mo and a 1,000-contact lifetime cap | $77.60 annual / $97 monthly | $77.60 annual / $97 monthly (+ $47–$97 each if you add Credits, CRM or Inbox Placement) |
| Meetbound | $49.99 — Pro (no annual rate published) | $49.99 — Pro | $49.99 — Pro covers 50 mailboxes; Agency $119.99 for unlimited |
| Smartlead | $78.30 annual / $94 monthly — Pro. Base caps at 6,000 sends/mo | $78.30 annual / $94 monthly | $78.30 annual / $94 monthly (90,000 sends/mo) |
| Saleshandy | $69 annual / $99 monthly — Pro. Starter caps at 6,000 emails | $69 annual / $99 monthly | $69 annual / $99 monthly (150,000 emails/mo) |
| QuickMail | $99 — Growth (no annual rate published). Starter caps at 1,000 uploaded contacts | $99 | $99 (100,000 emails/mo) |
| lemlist | $55 annual / $69 monthly — Email plan, 50,000 emails/mo, unlimited senders | $55 annual / $69 monthly | $55 annual / $69 monthly |
| Woodpecker | Not priced on mailboxes at all — about $126/mo annual at 10,000 contacted prospects (third-party) | Same — the meter is people emailed, not inboxes | Same |
| Mailbox hosting + domains (add to every row) | $30–$100/mo for mailboxes + ~$4/mo for domains | $75–$250/mo + ~$10/mo | $150–$500/mo + ~$21/mo |
The mailbox range comes from the vendors themselves: Saleshandy sells mailboxes at $2.99–$3.99 each per month, Woodpecker at $4 (third-party) to $6 (Google or Microsoft), Instantly at $4 for AirMail, $5 for done-for-you Google and $10 pre-warmed. Domains run about $15 per domain per year, assuming roughly one domain per three mailboxes. One line the table deliberately leaves out: if warmup is part of why you are buying, add $59/mo to the Smartlead rows below its $174 tier. At 50 mailboxes the hosting layer alone can cost five times your sequencer subscription — which is why the software price is the wrong thing to optimize first.
Sender rules changed the math in 2026
Two things about the current bulk-sender rules should shape which tool you buy. First, Google counts the 5,000-messages-per-24-hours threshold cumulatively across a primary domain and all of its subdomains — so splitting volume across subdomains or across more mailboxes on the same root domain does not put you back underneath it. Second, bulk senders need SPF, DKIM and a DMARC record with alignment (p=none is acceptable), one-click unsubscribe per RFC 8058, spam complaints kept under 0.10% and never at or above 0.30%.
That turns into four narrow questions for any candidate tool. Does it monitor SPF, DKIM, DMARC and MX for every connected mailbox, or only at setup? Does it emit compliant unsubscribe headers, not just a footer link? Does it surface complaint and bounce rates per mailbox rather than per campaign? And does it verify addresses before send? Meetbound monitors DNS health per mailbox with a 0–100 score and fix recommendations; QuickMail layers Deliverability AI and blacklist monitoring on top; Instantly and Smartlead sell placement testing as a separate line item.
On warmup: every platform here except Apollo ships an engine of some kind, but not all of them ship it free. Instantly gives unlimited warmup on every tier. lemlist bundles lemwarm on all plans. Saleshandy includes it on a separate login, Emelia and Meetbound include it by tier, Woodpecker charges $5 per email account per month for extras, and Smartlead sells the warmup pool as a $59/mo add-on until its $174 tier. That distinction is worth money, because bought on its own warmup is usually priced per inbox — lemwarm's entry plan is $29 per mailbox per month, so ten mailboxes is roughly $290 a month on top of your sender. If you are buying it separately, see our roundup of email warmup tools. The consent rules governing opt-in email marketing are a stricter, separate problem.
What switching actually costs
- Exporting sequences and reply history. Check whether the export includes reply bodies or only contact lists. Most teams discover the difference after they cancel.
- Preserving the suppression and unsubscribe list. This is a compliance risk, not an inconvenience. An unsubscribe dropped during migration becomes an email you were told not to send.
- Re-authenticating every mailbox via OAuth. At 50 mailboxes this is half a day of clicking, and each connection starts its history fresh on the new platform.
- The re-warming window. Mailboxes that change platform restart their warmup cycle. Budget two to four weeks before you are back at full volume, and do not drop total sending to zero in between.
- Rewriting copy for a different personalization model. Merge tags, conditional blocks and fallbacks rarely map one-to-one between platforms, so budget an editing pass over every sequence you port — openers and email sign-offs that get replies included, since that is where the reply rate actually lives.
- One billing cycle of overlap. No migration is clean. Assume a month of paying for both tools while you validate the new one.
- Whether campaign data is exportable at all. Ask before you sign, not after you cancel.
- Domain and mailbox ownership. Trustpilot reviewers report that with Instantly's done-for-you setup they did not own the domains and could not move them out — a reviewer allegation we could not verify independently, and one that sits awkwardly against AirMail's "what you set up is yours" marketing. Whoever sold you managed infrastructure, confirm in writing which registrar account holds the domains before you try to leave.
Which Instantly alternative should you pick?
Sending volume, not team size, is the variable that decides this. Pick your band.
- Under 6,000 emails a month (1–3 mailboxes). Meetbound Starter at $19.99/mo or Saleshandy Outreach Starter at $25/mo annual. Both include warmup. Price cliff: Saleshandy jumps to $69/mo annual the moment you pass 6,000 emails or 2,000 active prospects.
- 6,000–50,000 emails a month (5–25 mailboxes). Meetbound Pro at $49.99/mo covers 50 mailboxes flat. lemlist Email at $55/mo annual covers 50,000 emails with unlimited senders and unlimited users. Price cliff: Smartlead goes from $39 to $94 the instant you cross 6,000 sends.
- 50,000–150,000 emails a month. Smartlead Pro $94/mo (90,000 sends) or Unlimited Smart $174/mo (150,000 sends); QuickMail Growth $99/mo (100,000 emails). This is also the band where staying on Instantly makes the most sense — Hypergrowth at $97/mo is genuinely competitive if you are not buying the other four modules.
- 150,000+ emails a month. QuickMail Agency $299/mo (500,000 emails), Smartlead Unlimited Prime $379/mo (500,000 sends), or Saleshandy Scale $139/mo annual (240,000 emails), rising to Scale Plus $209/mo annual (300,000). Instantly Light Speed at $358/mo ($286.30 annual) is the one to beat if you specifically want SISR dedicated IP sharding.
- Agency with client workspaces. Smartlead first — the white-label layer is the most mature here. QuickMail second at a flat $299 with unlimited users and senders. Woodpecker third if your clients have predictable monthly volume. Meetbound Agency at $119.99/mo gives unlimited mailboxes with warmup included, but it is not the cheapest unlimited-mailbox tier here — Saleshandy ($25 annual), Smartlead ($39) and QuickMail ($49) all lift the mailbox cap for less. And if the white-labeled client portal is itself the product you sell, Smartlead is the safer buy.
- You need LinkedIn. The top three — Meetbound, Smartlead and Saleshandy — are all email-first. lemlist Multichannel ($109/user/mo, $87 annual) for the deepest sequencing, QuickMail if you want unlimited LinkedIn accounts included at $49/mo, or Emelia at €37/mo for the cheapest email-plus-LinkedIn entry.
Key takeaways
- The headline price is a quarter to a fifteenth of the real bill. $37.60 buys sending only; teams report about $150/mo once the modules go on, and a full stack of Outreach, Credits, CRM, Inbox Placement, domains and mailboxes runs about $550 a month.
- "Uploaded contacts" is a lifetime cap, not a monthly allowance. Instantly's help center says so explicitly, and almost every competing guide gets it wrong.
- The 2026 bundles carry no discount. They cost exactly the sum of their parts, and because bundles get 10% annually while standalone Outreach gets 20%, buying separately on annual billing is cheaper.
- Unlimited mailboxes never meant free mailboxes. Budget $3–$10 per inbox per month plus about $15 per domain per year, whichever sequencer you choose.
- Pick on billing unit, not sticker price. Per workspace, per seat, per uploaded contact, per contacted prospect and per credit are five different products wearing the same price tag.
Instantly's structure is what this page is really about: five products, five renewal dates, one headline price. Meetbound is the opposite trade — campaigns, in-house peer-to-peer warmup and AI reply classification inside a single plan at $19.99, $49.99 or $119.99 a month, the same figure whether you pay in USD, EUR or GBP, with no per-mailbox warmup fee. Data is the one thing still metered: Email Finder packs and Lead Enrichment credits are pay-as-you-go, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. The free trial is Starter, 25 email-finder credits, no card — see Meetbound pricing. If LinkedIn sequencing or a dialer is on your requirements list, buy lemlist or QuickMail instead.
FAQ
How much does Instantly actually cost per month?
The Email Outreach plan starts at $47/mo, or $37.60 billed annually. That buys sending only. CRM and inbox-placement testing are $47 or $97 each, lead credits run from $9 to $1,700 a month, and domains and mailboxes are billed per unit. A team running all four modules with 30 mailboxes pays roughly $550 a month.
What counts as an "uploaded contact" in Instantly?
Any contact stored across all your campaigns. Instantly's help center states that the uploaded-contact limit is a fixed limit across all campaigns, not per month. So Growth's 1,000 contacts is a standing lifetime ceiling, not a monthly allowance, and you free up room only by deleting contacts. Most comparison articles get this wrong.
Do Instantly credits roll over or do they expire?
They expire. Instantly's help center says credits on monthly plans expire two months after purchase if unused, and credits on annual plans expire after one year. They do not roll over. The AI Reply Agent also charges 5 credits per generated reply regardless of whether the reply is sent or edited.
Does Instantly do LinkedIn outreach?
Not as a sending channel. Instantly's CRM tracks LinkedIn as a pipeline activity, but there is no LinkedIn automation inside the sequencer at any tier. If you need LinkedIn and email steps in one sequence, look at lemlist Multichannel, QuickMail or Emelia instead — all three are profiled above.
What is the cheapest Instantly alternative?
Meetbound Starter at $19.99/mo is the lowest flat price here, with warmup included and three mailboxes. Saleshandy Outreach Starter is $25/mo billed annually ($36 monthly) with unlimited email accounts. Smartlead Base is $39/mo. All three are one subscription rather than five, which is where the real saving comes from.
Which Instantly alternative is best for agencies?
Smartlead. Unlimited Prime at $379/mo includes three SmartServers, OAuth, three or more client workspaces and a dedicated manager, and white-label client workspaces cost $29/mo as an add-on on lower tiers. QuickMail Agency at $299/mo is the flat-price alternative if you want unlimited users and senders without per-seat math.
Do I own the domains I set up through Instantly?
Instantly markets AirMail with the line that what you set up is yours. Trustpilot reviewers dispute this for done-for-you setups, alleging they did not own the domains and could not transfer them out. We could not verify either claim independently. Ask which registrar account holds the domains, in writing, before buying.
Is "unlimited mailboxes" actually unlimited sending?
No. Unlimited mailboxes means the sequencer does not charge you per connected inbox. Your plan still caps monthly emails — 5,000 on Instantly Growth — and each mailbox is throttled at 100 SMTP sends per day on that tier. You also still pay a mailbox host roughly $3 to $10 per inbox per month.
